  • Guidance on Extended Working Hours Requirement: Many UC recipients must now work longer hours as part of government plans to encourage employment. The Turn2Us charity warns this could drastically impact those with long-term health conditions, caring responsibilities, or irregular incomes.
  • Detailed Overview of Universal Credit criteria:It will explain how, this single benefit payment for working-age people, replacing various previous benefits
  • Updates on Rule Changes: From May 2024, the minimum working hours for required UC claimants increased from 15 to 18, affecting 180,000 people. Those earning the National Living Wage (£11.44 for those aged 21 or over) must meet this new threshold, with certain exemptions for those with long-term sickness or disabilities.
